The Kentucky Horsewear Show Rug 160g is an elegant and versatile rug that combines high comfort with an exclusive design. The rug is designed for competition but works just as well as a stable rug, travel rug, or under-rug, making it easy to use the same rug while traveling, at the competition venue, and in the stable.
The outer fabric is made of durable 600D polyester with classic diamond quilting. This construction makes the rug hard-wearing, while the smooth surface helps prevent shavings and bedding from sticking. The blanket has 160 g of fiber filling, which provides a lot of warmth relative to its low weight and does not absorb odors in the same way as down.
The interior is lined with Kentucky’s signature synthetic rabbit fur, a very soft material that helps reduce the risk of chafing while giving the coat a shiny, well-groomed finish. The lining’s structure creates small air pockets that trap the horse’s body heat and provide an extra insulating layer. The combination of materials results in a blanket with good breathability and high warmth relative to its weight.
Around the neck opening, there is synthetic sheepskin that provides extra comfort and helps reduce pressure on the withers and neck. It also helps ensure the rug feels comfortable when the horse, for example, lowers its head to eat.
The Show Rug has an anatomically shaped fit and is designed to lie securely on the horse. The front closes with overlapping flaps in a Z-shape, which helps distribute pressure more evenly. The front buckles are adjustable so the fit can be easily tailored to the horse.
