Rambo® Turnout—one of the market’s most reliable and durable horse blankets, featuring high quality and 100% waterproofing. 

The Wug model extends slightly up the neck, forming a fixed “half-neck” design. This provides greater protection against rain and inclement weather and may be suitable for horses prone to chafing, as it reduces pressure points on the withers and shoulders. 

The Rambo Wug is made of an outer material called 1000-denier ballistic nylon. Ballistic nylon is one of the strongest materials used in horse blankets and textiles due to its resistance to tears, wear, and water penetration. Between the outer and inner layers is a micro-thin layer called “Aquatrans,” which is 100% waterproof and wicks away moisture and vapor from the horse. This proprietary technology is used exclusively by Horseware. The inside of the blanket, on the other hand, consists of a 400-gram fiber filling covered by a silky-smooth polyester fabric that has undergone an antistatic and antibacterial treatment. This reduces static buildup and inhibits bacterial growth. 

1000D ballistic nylon is more durable than, for example, Amigo Bravo, which is approximately 1200D. This is because ballistic nylon is a much stronger material than the polyester used in Amigo, Rhino, and Mio, as well as many other blanket brands. The same applies to rain and inclement weather; ballistic nylon is denser and stronger than polyester and therefore offers greater water resistance. 

There is 400 grams of thermally bonded fiber padding between the outer and inner layers; this is a type of polyester fiber that has been heat-treated. The fibers are “fused together” at contact points so that the filling remains airy, even, and retains its shape. Unlike untreated fillings, it does not clump as easily during washing or use.

Features cut-out leg openings for freedom of movement and an ergonomic V-front closure to reduce pressure across the withers and allow for greater mobility. Reflective strips on the front and back, a tail flap to protect the hindquarters, and three girth straps.
