The ultimate waterproof outer shell, now even stronger than before! Rambo® Supreme 1680D Vari-Layer Turnout with 450 gram fill, features an impressive waterproof and breathable 1680D Ballistic Nylon outer fabric, 120% stronger than our standard 1000D Ballistic Nylon!
Vari-Layer
The rug is made with 150GR lining at the bottom of the sides, 300GR along the belly and ribs, and finally 450GR across the back to concentrate the heat on the horse's back and rump muscles. When the horse is cold, the back and rump muscles compensate by becoming tense, which releases energy that provides heat, but this also results in tense and stiff muscles. A cold horse will easily tense its muscles to compensate for the cold, while a warm horse will maintain soft and relaxed muscles. This Rambo blanket is therefore excellent when you want to ensure a warm back and loin on colder days, but not risk overheating.
Rambo Supreme consists of an outer material called Ballistic Nylon of 1680 Denier. Ballistic Nylon is one of the strongest materials used in equestrian blankets and textiles for its resistance to tearing, abrasion and waterproofing. Between the outer and inner material there is a micro-thin layer called aquatrans which is 100% waterproof and wicks steam and moisture away from the horse. This allows the rug to retain a high level of breathability and wicks away moisture if your horse gets too hot.
This self-invented and potent variant of "aquatrans" is only found within Horseware's Rambo rugs. The inside of the blanket consists of a silky polyester that is manufactured with an anti-static, shine-enhancing and anti-bacterial treatment. This makes the duvet less static, inhibits bacterial growth and reduces the risk of chafing.
Thermobonded fiber padding; which is a type of polyester fiber that has been heat treated. The fibers are 'fused' at contact points so that the filling is airy, smooth and retains its shape. Unlike untreated fillings, it does not clump as easily when washed or used.

The blanket has an ergonomic V-front closure that distributes and reduces pressure on the shoulder, leg cuts and a surefit neck design for optimal freedom of movement when the horse moves, plays and grazes. Equipped with front and rear reflective strips, a wipeable tail cord and three removable belly straps with Rambo® Safety Surcingle System that releases at 100 kilograms of pressure should the horse get stuck. Neck included that attaches on and off with two heavy-duty Velcro straps on the outside of the rug to prevent chafing. Excellent for chafing-prone or sensitive horses.
