The Wug model goes a bit up the neck and becomes like a fixed "half neck". This provides higher protection against rain and storms, and can be suitable for horses prone to chafing as the pressure point on the withers and shoulder is reduced.

The Rambo Wug consists of an outer material called ballistic nylon of 1000 Denier. Ballistic Nylon is one of the strongest materials used in horse rugs and textiles for its resistance to tearing, abrasion and waterproofing. Between the outer and inner material there is a micro-thin layer called aquatrans which is 100% waterproof and wicks steam and moisture away from the horse. This proprietary technology is only used by Horseware. The inside of the blanket, on the other hand, consists of a 200 gram fiber filling covered by a silky polyester made with an anti-static and anti-bacterial treatment. This makes the blanket less static and inhibits bacterial growth.

Ballistic Nylon at 1000D is more durable than for example Amigo Bravo at about 1200D. This is because Ballistic Nylon is a much stronger material than the Polyester used in Amigo and Mio as well as many other duvet brands. Likewise with rain and storms; ballistic nylon is denser, stronger than polyester and therefore possesses a higher water resistance.

Thermobonded fiber padding of 200gr between the outer and inner material; which is a type of polyester fiber that has been heat treated. The fibers are "fused" at contact points so that the filling is airy, smooth and retains its shape. Unlike untreated fillings, it does not clump as easily when washed or used.

The blanket has an ergonomic V-front closure that distributes and reduces pressure on the shoulder, leg cuts and a surefit neck wug design for optimal freedom of movement when the horse moves, plays and grazes. Equipped with front and rear reflective strips, a wipeable tail cord and three removable belly straps with Rambo® Safety Surcingle System that releases at 100 kilograms of pressure should the horse get stuck.
