Chia de Gracia Collagen+ contains PETAGILE® collagen, rose hips, MSM, hyaluronic acid, and a pinch of love 🧡
The product combines collagen peptides and nutrients typical of connective tissue as part of a varied diet for horses and dogs. With a collagen content of approximately 80%, the product is a nutrient-rich supplement to the diet.
The product contains no fillers, flavorings, preservatives, or colorants.
Collagen as Part of the Body’s Structure
Collagen is one of the body’s most common proteins. It is estimated that approximately 30% of the body’s proteins consist of collagen.
Collagen is found, among other places, in:
- cartilage
- tendons
- ligaments
- skin
- connective tissue
Collagen peptides are proteins composed of amino acids such as glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline. These amino acids are part of the normal structure of many connective tissue structures.
Tendons, Joints, and Connective Tissue
The musculoskeletal system of horses and dogs consists of several different tissues, such as bone, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and muscles. What these tissues have in common is that their structure contains abundant collagen.
Tendons and ligaments consist largely of dense collagen fibers that form a strong yet flexible structure. This structure enables movement, load-bearing, and elasticity between different tissues.
Collagen is also an important structural protein in articular cartilage. Cartilage tissue consists of a network of collagen that contains water-binding molecules and other structural components typical of cartilage.
Since connective tissue is continuously renewed, amino acids and other nutrients from the diet are part of the tissues’ normal structure and metabolism.
PETAGILE® Collagen
CdG Collagen+ contains bioactive collagen peptides (PETAGILE®).
Collagen peptides have been studied in animals, particularly from the perspective of cartilage and connective tissue nutrition. Studies have examined the absorption and utilization of collagen peptides in animal feed.
Other Ingredients
Rosehip
Rose hips contain natural vitamin C as well as plant-derived compounds such as polyphenols and carotenoids. Vitamin C plays a role in the body’s collagen synthesis.
MSM
MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is an organic sulfur compound. Sulfur is a component of several biological molecules and is found, among other places, in amino acids and connective tissue structures.
Hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic acid is a natural polysaccharide found in connective tissue and in the synovial fluid of the joints, among other places.

More Information and Research
Collagen peptides have been studied in several animal nutrition studies, particularly from the perspective of connective tissue nutrition.
Studies have examined the absorption and transport of collagen peptides in the body. Orally ingested collagen peptides have been shown to be broken down into amino acids and small peptides that are absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and transported via the bloodstream to various tissues.
PETAGILE® collagen peptides have also been studied in trials involving horses. In studies on dogs, the use of collagen peptides has been investigated in relation to the metabolism of cartilage cells.
Research is used to understand the product’s background and the known composition of collagen peptides.
