Loose rings provide a direct contact with immediate yielding, where the pressure on the tongue and lips ceases as soon as the rider releases the reins and the bit takes a neutral position in the horse's mouth.
Bombers Moulded Preferred Contact has cylindrical sides and a flat center. The cylindrical sides curve over the lower jaw and lips, and the flat center portion lies flat over the tongue.
The center is a flat oval circle that is angled at 45 degrees to lie flush against the tongue and palate. The articulated section on either side of the tongue plate gives the cylindrical sides independent action and stability in the center section. Moulded bits are great for horses that don't like metal, or when you've tried everything without success.
The Moulded beds from Bombers have been uniquely developed to ensure three important characteristics: structure, durability and comfort. Moulded Preferred Contact has been designed specifically for cases where Bombers tongue-free methods have not worked, and where some form of heavy pressure is needed. The Bomber philosophy is to always try to distribute and dissipate pressure, especially away from sensitive areas.
Like all Bombers steel components, the wire inside the bit and side parts are covered by a lifetime warranty. This mouthpiece is not suitable for horses that bite on the bit. The bit is therefore not covered by warranty or right of complaint if the damage is caused by the horse biting the bit.
Bombers bits are made in South Africa and are completely handmade, giving you the unique opportunity to choose how every little detail of the bit is designed. You can choose the type of mouthpiece you want, the type of rings / shackles, how thick the bite should be and if you want different lengths on the right and left sides of the mouthpieces. The mouthpieces are made of sweet iron and brass and are shaped to distribute the pressure over a larger surface, rings/handles are made of stainless steel.
